In 2001 I made the decision to change careers, industries altogether. When I made that decision friends, family and coworkers all had their input. All I have ever known was to send my resume and hope to get a call. After a while I learned this wasn't the case anymore and I needed to do more. Those around me wanted to help and some had good suggestions while others, I learned later on, were trying to just give me what I wanted to hear. 

 

After a year of unsuccessful interviews and zero progress I decided to learn more about the process in general. With a sales background I thought I knew how to sell myself but the more I began to look at it, the more I realized I did not. I could not answer the dreaded question, “Tell me about yourself?”

 

The title CEO of One is about taking control of yourself and your career at any point along your career path. This is about mastering the process; learning the resources available to you, how to use them, how to you pitch yourself to someone you don't know, getting excited about reaching your goals, and doing it all in a timely manner while holding yourself accountable.
